We've been chipping away at about 50 interviews for the upcoming Stereo Recordings documentary. The narrative is falling together rather well. We talked to Mike Vallely today at his house in Long Beach. It got heavily into 1991 and that year seems to have shifted so much for a lot of these guys. Stereo's roots were laid down based on a reaction to non-reaction. Skateboarding was complacent. Does it sound like I'm writing a script? Actually I am. We've got a celebrity narrator which always seems to work for these documentaries. Below you'll find the street that Jason skates in Tincan ('96). He grew up in the house on the left.
